About the Author

Erica Taylor was born in the ‘thumb’ of Michigan. She began writing as a child, swapping handwritten stories with her twin sister after school. Erica grew up reading whatever fantasy or science fiction novels she could get her hands on, playing story-focused video games, and recreating the most dramatic scenes from each with her siblings and friends in their spacious, treed yard. When she was older, she discovered tabletop roleplaying games and found the TTRPG medium to be an interesting new way to tell stories. She plays an ongoing Dungeons & Dragons campaign with her friends and enjoys finding new games to add to her and her husband’s growing hoard.

A professionally trained engineer, her love of all things fantasy has fueled her reading and writing and given her books a depth of setting and character. She’s spent her days living near the woods, waiting for the day the trees call her to join them. Until then, she spends her time playing Dungeons & Dragons with her friends and camping in Michigan with her husband, lounging in a chair with a book in her hands.

Like her favorite books and games, her stories include magical settings, quests, reluctant heroes, found family, and love. Her penchant for a slow burn shines in her writing and is an almost constant component of her tales.
